Job summary

St Michael’s Prep School in Otford is seeking a warm Wraparound Care Assistant to join the after school club. You will help organise games, support arts and crafts, and supervise tea-time, contributing to a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 5–13.

The role runs 3:30–6:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. You will be a good communicator, uphold safeguarding, and work closely with the Wraparound Care Manager to plan age-appropriate activities.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at level 4+.
• Safeguarding training is preferred; school can facilitate.
• First Aid/Paediatric First Aid certification preferred.
• Food hygiene level 1 understanding; handling food safely.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure or Update Service registration.

Responsibilities

• Care for and nurture children aged 5–13 during after-school hours.
• Plan, prepare and deliver age-appropriate activities and games.
• Engage children in play and crafts to support creativity.
• Assist with tea-time, ensuring safe, healthy snacks.
• Log incidents or concerns and collaborate with the manager.
• Maintain clean, safe play areas and equipment.
