After School Play Leader – Unique Children's Wraparound Club in Thames Ditton!

Casual/Flexible hours on offer with majority of available hours being 2pm-6:30pm Tuesday to Thursday and up to 40 hours during holiday camps if available

£10ph-12.21ph (dependent on age, experience and qualifications) plus holiday pay allowance

We are recruiting for a brand new wraparound childcare business in Thames Ditton based in the Vital Village Community Hub. They provide before and after school club services that go beyond childcare, ensuring enriching activities that complement families' routines.

We are excited to offer a flexible opportunity for an experienced Play Leader to join their team. This role is key to their ethos of enabling children to thrive through engaging indoor and outdoor activities. They seek passionate individuals who can bring new ideas to the group.

Their focus is on providing high-quality care, prioritising children's well-being and development, fostering an environment where children feel loved, valued, and free to explore their potential.

Children will enjoy activities such as Multi Sports, performing arts, languages, music lessons, Arts and Crafts, Book Corners, and seasonal activities emphasizing sustainability.

Responsibilities include...

  • Collect children from local schools via minibus or walking bus
  • Lead group activities like games and sports
  • Lead small group activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, and board games
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment tailored to each child's needs
  • Prepare and serve healthy snacks and meals, maintaining hygiene and safety standards
  • Participate in daily debriefs and meetings

About you...

  • NVQ 2 in Playwork or Childcare (desirable) or relevant experience and willingness to learn
  • Understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted standards
  • Honest and open communication
  • Experience with children aged 3–11 and a passion for responsible fun
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to juggle priorities
  • Driven, people-focused, with excellent communication skills
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification and enhanced DBS are desirable but can be provided
