Job summary

Peterborough Diocese Education Trust is seeking an enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support the delivery of the After School Space Club at Weldon CE Primary. The role focuses on providing a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for children after the school day ends.

The successful candidate will uphold the school’s ethos, adhere to the Behaviour Policy and participate in CPD, First Aid and safeguarding training. Permanent contract with a 38-week year and Grade C3 pay applies.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the After School Space Club.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children after school.
• Uphold the school’s Behaviour Policy and address challenging behaviour with respect.
• Contribute to a collaborative church and Trust school ethos.
• Complete CPD including First Aid and safeguarding training.

Full Time Salary: £25,614
Actual Salary: £7,259.86
Hours: 12.50 hours per day, 5 days per week, 38 weeks per year.
Starting: 2 November 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring After School Club Assistant to support the delivery of our After School Space Club. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, ensuring children enjoy a positive and rewarding experience at the end of the school day.

• Is enthusiastic, approachable and friendly
• will ensure all children feel safe, happy and able to learn,

• understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy.
• is supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.

• who is prepared to undertake appropriate CPD to develop their skills including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training.
• understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare - both at home and in school.
