Job summary

St Georges CofE (Aided) Primary School in Sheerness is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support wrap-around care for children aged 4 to 11.

This role is 9 hours a week, over 3 days during term time. You will supervise, help plan engaging activities, promote safeguarding, and work with staff to create a safe, welcoming environment before and after the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting (preferred).
• A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A reliable and flexible approach to work.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the wrap around care provision.
• Provide direct supervision and care for children aged 4 to 11.
• Assist in planning, organising, and delivering a variety of enjoyable and age-appropriate activities.
• Promote the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all children at all times.
• Build positive relationships with children, encouraging inclusion, independence, and positive behavior.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, carers, and school staff.
• Maintain accurate records in line with school procedures and safeguarding policies.
• Assist with the preparation and serving of healthy snacks, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Help maintain a welcoming, positive, clean, and well-organised environment.
• Support colleagues in ensuring the provision operates effectively and meets the needs of all children attending.
