Job summary

Blackhorse Primary School is seeking an After School Club Assistant to join a small team. You will help create a welcoming, supportive environment for club members and assist with tidying and housekeeping after activities.

The role requires safeguarding awareness and a proactive approach to behaviour management and child welfare. The post is part-time, term-time only (15 hours per week, 3.15pm–3.30pm, Monday to Friday) with a permanent contract and a closing date of 22 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children, ideally within a pre-school, school setting or classroom environment.
• Experience of working with children.
• Willingness to engage in further training.
• Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, children and families.
• Two fully supportive employment references.

Responsibilities

• Manage behaviour of members of the after school club.
• Assist with tidying the venue after use and housekeeping prompts for children.
• Support aims and ethos of the school and comply with safeguarding policies.
• Report concerns in line with health, safety and security procedures.
• Promote a welcoming and supportive environment for members of the club.
