Job Summary:

To provide outpatient mental/behavioral health psychotherapy to patients within the Affirming Care (GAC) Program. The Psychotherapist II- GAC Program is a member of the clinical practice team and works collaboratively with other team members in providing patient care. The role involves coordinating care for individual patients, supporting patients and families in self-management using evidence-based approaches, engaging in health center projects targeting specific patient population needs, and utilizing effective communication strategies, including health literacy approaches.

Job Duties:
  1. Provide psychotherapy to patients in the Affirming Care Program.
  2. Provide consultation, assessment, and evaluation on an urgent and routine basis during regular health center hours.
  3. Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis regarding mental/behavioral health issues.
  4. Maintain necessary paperwork and documentation as required by department and health center policies.
  5. Provide trauma-informed care.
  6. Consult with medical providers and other programs regarding mental/behavioral health issues.
  7. Provide patient advocacy, outreach, and education in the community as appropriate.
  8. Provide contracted consultation and evaluation to outside agencies such as schools and residential treatment programs.
  9. Adhere to all department protocols regarding patient care.
  10. Perform other duties and work on special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Active license to practice in Massachusetts as LMHC, LICSW, or LMFT.
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of vulnerable populations.
  • Strong background and training in Affirming Psychotherapy.
  • All employees must have the most recent COVID-19 booster and the yearly flu vaccine.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese is a plus.
