Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in AF and Stroke Prevention. You will screen for AF, work autonomously, and advise on anticoagulation within AF management. The role includes clinics, audits, and teaching across a multidisciplinary team.

We welcome experienced nurses with cardiology knowledge and CPD; flexible working and opportunities for development are offered at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie sites. This is an NHS Band 6 post.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with active professional registration
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Teaching qualification or willingness to undertake post-registration qualification in Cardiology
• Advanced communication skills/counselling
• Degree and/or research module
• Non-medical prescribing training or willingness to undertake

Responsibilities

• Screen for AF and atrial flutter and recognise these on ECGs.
• Work as autonomous practitioner with expert clinical decision-making.
• Participate in clinics, projects, research, data analysis and audits.
• Identify daily caseload and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Provide specialist education and training for staff and students.
• Liaise with Primary Care and other secondary care hospitals
• Manage referrals and work with intra-hospital departments
