Job description

Job Title: Lecturer / Tutor at Leeds International Study Centre

Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) - Permanent

Location: Leeds, Leeds International Study Centre

Salary: up to £36,661.97 per annum

Leeds International Study Centre and Leeds Beckett International Study Centre, in collaboration with the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team. You will work with colleagues across the centre to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes, contributing to an outstanding student experience.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to manage the programme and student lifecycle effectively.
  2. Design, deliver, and develop modules offered by the centre.
  3. Prepare examinations and assessments, mark, and provide feedback to students.
  4. Develop and update course materials, including content on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  5. Provide academic guidance and support to students.
  6. Collaborate with the Student Support Team on induction, orientation, and registration programs.
  7. Enhance student outcomes through module development and innovative teaching practices.
  8. Engage in scholarly activities to keep modules current.
  9. Promote student engagement through activities and initiatives.
  10. Implement quality assurance procedures and contribute to program monitoring and review.
  11. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
  12. Complete sponsor and academic reports as required.
  13. Participate in initiatives such as eLearning, VLE development, and peer observation activities.
  14. Promote health, safety, and wellbeing for all students and staff.
Candidate Requirements
  • A relevant English teaching qualification.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area; a Master's degree is normally essential for pre-masters programmes.
  • Additional qualifications such as DELTA are welcomed.
  • Experience of teaching in UK higher or further education, preferably with international students.
