Job summary

UK Space Jobs is recruiting for a Fitter / Wireman to join a leading aerospace operation in Yeovil. You will assemble, wire and test Life Support and Environmental Control Systems, following strict engineering drawings and standards.

The role requires aerospace wiring experience, soldering to J standard, IPC crimping, and mechanical fitting skills within a regulated, safety-critical manufacturing environment. You will work in a collaborative team focused on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace wiring and soldering to J standard.
• Crimping experience to IPC processing requirements.
• Mechanical fitting experience in aerospace equipment.
• Knowledge of pressure testing and safety-critical work.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow processes to high quality.
• Awareness of Health & Safety in a regulated environment.
• Strong teamwork, initiative and customer-focused approach.
• Proficiency with PC tools and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Produce aerospace products per engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Assemble, wire and test Life Support and Environmental Control Systems modules.
• Perform aerospace wiring activities and soldering to J standard.
• Carry out crimping to IPC processing requirements and pressure testing as required.
• Interpret drawings and manufacturing documentation accurately.
• Ensure OCQ checks meet quality and customer standards.
• Deliver work on time, maintain safety and lean practices.
• Collaborate with Designers, Engineers and Manufacturing team.
