A leading aerospace company is seeking a Contract Technical Author to document complex UAV platforms. This hybrid role offers a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, focusing on developing new documentation and ensuring standards like S1000D are met. The position emphasizes hands-on access to engineering teams and a pioneering approach to authoring, making it an exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience authoring technical publications in aerospace, defence or UAV environments.
• Confident with S1000D, STE and modular documentation.
• Eligible for Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create System Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
• Develop training courseware and supporting publications.
• Produce clear, structured documentation aligned to S1000D and STE.
• Establish practical workflows for future authoring requests.

Skills

Technical authoring experience

Knowledge of S1000D

Experience in aerospace or UAV environment

Comfortable working independently

Ability to work closely with engineering teams
