Job summary

Morson Edge in the West Midlands is seeking a Tooling Engineer on a contract, full-time basis to design, develop, and optimise tooling systems for aerospace components. You will work with manufacturing teams to deliver tooling solutions that meet quality and safety standards.

The role requires a mechanical/manufacturing engineering background, CAD proficiency, and hands-on experience with tooling design and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Strong proficiency in CAD and manufacturing engineering principles.
• Experience with tooling design and maintenance in aerospace or similar industries.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling equipment and fixtures to aerospace standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for tooling projects.
• Collaborate with production and quality to resolve tooling issues.
• Manage modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and validation reports.
• Ensure tooling designs comply with health and safety regulations.
• Support testing and validation of tooling prototypes and analyse results.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials and services for tooling.
• Maintain records of tooling assets, schedules, and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical training to manufacturing personnel on tooling usage.
