Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Tooling Engineer for a contract, full-time position in the West Midlands (Wolverhampton area). The role focuses on the design, development, and optimisation of tooling systems for aerospace manufacturing, with emphasis on quality, safety, and performance standards.

You will work closely with production teams to improve tooling reliability, lead documentation, and support supplier liaison while ensuring regulatory compliance and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years’ tooling engineering experience in aerospace or engineering sectors.
• Proficient CAD design and analysis for tooling and fixtures.
• Familiarity with aerospace tooling materials and QA principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling equipment and fixtures per aerospace standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for tooling projects.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve tooling issues.
• Manage modification and improvement of tooling for reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and validation reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
• Support testing and validation of tooling prototypes and adjust as needed.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials and services for tooling.
• Maintain records of tooling assets, schedules, and maintenance.
• Provide technical training to manufacturing personnel on tooling usage.
