Job summary

ALTEN is a global engineering and technology consultancy hiring a Technical Project Manager to join its Aerospace sector in the UK. Based in Luton, the role is on-site three days per week and requires eligibility for UK security clearance, with mid to senior experience (6–15 years) in engineering project delivery and work package leadership.

You will own engineering work packages, manage QCD targets, coordinate a IPT, and drive risk, planning, and reporting using PM tools.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in technical project management within engineering environments.
• Proven ability to manage work packages or sub-projects.
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Understanding of project delivery principles (QCD, risk management, planning).
• Ability to manage stakeholders and coordinate across functions.
• Experience using project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Engineering Work Packages, ensuring delivery to Quality, Cost, and Schedule targets.
• Support delivery across a portfolio of programmes, including development, in-service, and close-out activities.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities within the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
• Manage project risks, issues, and actions, ensuring timely resolution.
• Track and report progress using project management tools and dashboards.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, supply chain, and programme teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the project delivery function.
