Responsibilities
Main responsibilities
- Lead, assess, and investigate supplier quality issues
- Plan and execute high complex and cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Participate in quality reviews, PMRs, and governance meetings with senior management (Directors)
- Identify improvement opportunities, increase team efficiency, and enhance capability among stakeholders
- Define corrective actions and improvement plans with suppliers
- Propose innovative solutions and develop optimal strategies for complex issues, managing deployment
- Perform risk analyses for complex solutions
- Develop and recommend communication strategies for decision-making
- Analyze data and generate KPIs on supplier quality performance
- Manage RNC / VRNC quality tasks requiring MRB approval
- Provide technical support and coaching on quality tools to team members and stakeholders
- Act as a mentor and participate in defining strategic departmental plans
Other responsibilities (if required)
- Plan and perform FAI reviews
- Conduct source inspections
- Review and approve quality forms (e.g., dropship)
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years experience in aerospace
- Minimum of 7 years experience in Quality
- Extensive experience in problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies and tools such as 8D, PDCA, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Poka Yoke, etc.
- A Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification is an asset
- Experience with major structural components in commodity sectors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; creativity and flexibility are required
- Ability to read blueprints and check dimensional properties to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, including GD&T knowledge
- Experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102) is an asset
- Knowledge of Net Inspect and Discus is an asset
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset
- Familiarity with standard inspection concepts, practices, and procedures, including proficiency with CMM, comparator, micrometers, thread gauges, and calipers
- Ability to work independently as an expert role model
