Job summary

Spire Global is seeking a Quality Control Technician to assure the quality of spacecraft components throughout the manufacturing process. You will perform incoming inspection of supplier materials, in-process checks, EQ resolution, and final outgoing inspection before shipment.

You will maintain calibration of inspection equipment, document results with traceable quality records, and escalate non-conformances to Quality Engineers. This is an office-based role five days per week in Glasgow.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience in aerospace, defence, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing/inspection.
• Proficiency with production tools and measurement equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
• Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, ESD/FOD prevention.
• Experience with in-process, floor-based inspection using travellers and work instructions.
• Clear, professional communication with suppliers and teams on technical queries.
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems or aerospace quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming parts, materials and components against drawings and standards.
• Conduct in-process inspections at key manufacturing stages to verify conformance.
• Support resolution of supplier engineering queries by liaising with Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Conduct final inspections of outgoing hardware prior to shipment.
• Accurately document inspection results and maintain traceable quality records.
• Identify and elevate non-conformances to Quality Engineers or Technical Authorities.
• Assist in calibration and maintenance of inspection tools to ensure accuracy.
• Track calibration schedules in line with company procedures and quality standards.
