Job summary

Lynx Recruitment in Hampshire is seeking a Production Technician to operate lapping machinery and finish precision components to tight tolerances. You will perform in-process inspections, ensure parts meet drawings and specifications, and support other production activities to maintain flow and quality.

The role requires experience in precision engineering or manufacturing, with a safety-conscious approach and team-oriented mindset. Training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in precision engineering, manufacturing or production environments.
• Experience in lapping, polishing, deburring or component finishing (advantageous).
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.
• Good understanding of quality inspection and engineering tolerances.
• Ability to follow engineering drawings, work instructions and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lapping machinery to finish internal and external diameters.
• Lap and polish precision components to meet tolerances.
• Carry out in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Check components against drawings and specifications.
• Support other production activities including deburring and cleaning.
• Identify defects and report quality issues or non-conformances.
• Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Operate machinery in line with site procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support production flow and delivery deadlines.
