Job summary

GKN Western Approach Industrial Paint Facility in the UK is recruiting a Skilled Painter for the night shift. You will prepare components, apply coatings, and work to engineering drawings and SOPs in a world-class manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have industrial, aerospace or automotive spray experience and an NVQ Level 2 in Paint Spraying. The role offers core night hours, overtime options and potential for long-term contracts beyond the initial six months.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial, aerospace or automotive paint spraying.
• Strong understanding of paint preparation and application processes.
• Ability to meet detailed specifications and quality standards.
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• NVQ Level 2 in Paint Spraying.
• Copies of relevant certificates must be submitted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking and surface treatment.
• Apply coatings using approved paint spraying techniques and processes.
• Work to engineering drawings, specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure work meets required standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety procedures.
• Support production targets while maintaining a high level of workmanship and attention to detail.
