Job summary

Beagle Aircraft is seeking an experienced Lead NPI Engineer to join the Engineering team in Christchurch. You will lead New Product Introduction from concept through industrialisation, First Article and production readiness, taking aerospace products from design to robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to ensure successful manufacturing introductions, develop methods, tooling, and documentation,

Qualifications

• Experience in NPI, industrialisation or Manufacturing Engineering in aerospace.
• Experience taking products from design to manufacturing readiness and into production.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, metallic structures, welding and fabrication).

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI and industrialisation projects from initial concept through to production.
• Develop manufacturing processes, routings and work instructions for new products.
• Support and coordinate First Article builds and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Develop tooling, fixtures and inspection requirements to support production.
• Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles to improve manufacturability.
• Work cross-functionally to identify and resolve technical and manufacturing issues during NPI.
• Support RFQs and estimating activities with manufacturing methods, tooling and technical input.
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, quality, cost and delivery.
