ALTEN Ltd - UK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an aerospace program in Luton. The role focuses on high-precision rotating systems, CATIA V5 modelling, and robust 2D drawings.

You will work with Stress, Materials, Manufacturing and Systems teams to ensure aerospace-grade design, tolerances, and manufacturability. This role is on-site with clearances and a mid-level experience requirement.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Design Engineer in aerospace or precision engineering.
• Strong CATIA V5 hands-on experience.
• Proven ability in 3D modelling and assembly design.
• Proven capability to produce 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tight tolerances.
• Understanding of steel and aluminium materials.
• Familiarity with manufacture-friendly design.

Responsibilities

• Design high-precision mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace.
• Create 3D models/assemblies and detailed 2D drawings in CATIA V5.
• Apply GD&T to define functional tolerances.
• Define tolerances and perform stack-up analyses as needed.
• Work with Stress, Materials, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Support reviews and incorporate design changes throughout development.
