Job summary

Evolito Ltd. is seeking a Materials Engineer in Bicester to support materials characterisation and selection across aerospace applications. You will own test programs, analyse data and feed outcomes into design and manufacturing for airworthiness certification.

Reporting to the Principal Materials Engineer, you will work across design, manufacturing and supply chains, developing data-driven methodologies while ensuring material integrity for future products and processes.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience carrying out materials characterisation (mechanical or thermal testing).
• Strong materials engineering background with real-world application.
• Experience in aerospace or automotive industries preferred.
• Knowledge of metals, polymers, composites and adhesives.
• Creative problem solver with analytical approach.
• Confident with customers and suppliers.
• UK driving license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Managing and conducting the characterisation of materials.
• Conducting in-house testing as well as outsourcing to approved test houses.
• Providing input to the Design Team to ensure that a design meets requirements and manufacturability.
• Advising on application and selection of new materials in our products.
• Supporting Manufacturing in development and continuous improvement of production processes.
• Conducting and contributing to failure investigations.
• Developing data processing methodologies and tools, processing materials data and managing the materials database.
• Creating test procedures for verification of long-term materials integrity.
• Working with Supply Chain to select and audit suppliers.
• Reporting and presenting experiments and results to the wider team.
