Job summary

Safran in the United Kingdom (Newport) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for the Industrialisation department to drive new product introductions and ensure on-time delivery, cost control and high quality. You will collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and support operations and after-market teams with customer requests.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment.
• Essential knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly principles.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and 3D CAD modelling.
• Ability to interpret 2D drawings and work within regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design reviews throughout each phase of NPI.
• Coordinate design for assembly/manufacture reviews and provide improvements.
• Support operations, sales, R&T and after-market teams to meet requests.
• Lead make vs buy analysis with purchasing and design teams.
• Calculate capacity, tool and space requirements for new processes.
• Lead PFMEA reviews and prepare related documentation.
• Validate product designs against requirements and standards.
