Job summary

The JobsBoard is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a well-established aerospace manufacturer in the UK. The role focuses on maintaining, calibrating and improving instrumentation and control systems across the facility, ensuring reliability and compliance with quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls or Automation, with strong fault-finding skills and experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering.
• Recognised apprenticeship or technical qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical or Controls.
• Experience calibrating and maintaining instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Manufacturing environment experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, maintain, inspect, fault-find and repair instrumentation and control systems across the facility.
• Develop and carry out planned preventative maintenance and calibration schedules.
• Support reactive maintenance activities to minimise production downtime.
• Investigate recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Maintain calibration records, certificates and documentation to ensure quality standards.
• Assist with software modifications, configuration changes and commissioning activities.
• Maintain technical documentation including manuals, drawings and programme files.
• Identify opportunities to improve calibration efficiency and process performance.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 6S and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure all maintenance and calibration work is completed safely and per procedures.
