Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment invites applications for an Aerospace Inspector in Ferndown. The role involves inspecting aerospace components against drawings, producing FAIRs, and performing in-process, final and incoming inspections using Aberlink CMM and Keyence optical systems.

You will support root cause investigations, liaise with suppliers and internal teams, and work to AS9100 / ISO9001 standards. On-site role with up-to-date industry practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, defence or precision manufacturing.
• Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 standards.
• Experience producing FAIRs to EN9102 Rev C.
• Familiarity with CMMs (Aberlink preferred) and optical inspection systems.
• Formal quality certification (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aerospace and defence components against drawings and specifications.

Aerospace Inspector | Ferndown | Up to £20 per hour

As an Aerospace Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

• Inspect aerospace and defence components against engineering drawings and specifications
• Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with EN9102 Rev C
• Carry out in-process, final and incoming inspections using a range of measurement tools
• Operate and interpret data from an Aberlink Axiom CMM and Keyence optical measurement system
• Conduct and support Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations for non-conformances
• Liaise confidently with suppliers, customers and internal teams to maintain quality standards

As an Aerospace Inspector, your experience will include:

• Proven experience in aerospace, defence, or precision manufacturing
• Good knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and associated industry standards
• Experience producing FAIRs to EN9102 Rev C standards
• Familiarity with CMMs, ideally Aberlink, and visual/optical inspection systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to quality issues
• A formal quality or inspection certification (e.g. ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) would be an advantage
