Job summary

Morson Edge is recruiting for a Fitter/Tester to join the GDS division at our Wolverhampton facility. You will assemble and test high-lift actuation products and sub-assemblies to engineering drawings and test procedures in a regulated aerospace environment.

Working within a specialist team, you will perform functional and pressure tests, maintain traceability, and contribute to lean improvements while upholding safety and quality standards across critical civil and defence programmes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in mechanical/electro-mechanical engineering or allied trade.
• Strong mechanical assembly or repair experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and process plans.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Attention to detail with a quality-first mindset.
• Good communication; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test high-lift actuation products using approved methods.
• Follow engineering drawings and process plans.
• Perform functional, acceptance and pressure tests.
• Maintain production documentation for traceability.
• Inspect components with precision measuring tools.
• Diagnose faults and support repairs.
• Support stock control and safe handling of materials.
• Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate to meet production targets.
