GKN Aerospace Filton site is recruiting a full-time Fitter to design and manufacture large structural wing components for civil and military aircraft. You will work across a range of hand and machine tools, with opportunities to progress as you gain certification and experience.

Qualifications

• Level 3 apprenticeship and NVQ in fitting or equivalent.
• Export control understanding and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work to SOPs and procedures.
• Team-based, good communication skills.
• Manufacturing experience in aircraft production.
• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and machine tools to perform tasks.
• Percussion riveting.
• Drill, ream, countersink in panels using Vanmar tools.
• Set structures in build jigs.
• Deburr structures.
• Fettling with approved tools.
• Local touch-up on aluminium.
• Use CNC pillar drills (DONAU).
• Part marking and identification.
