Job summary

Ontic is recruiting an Electronic Technician - MRO to join our Tewkesbury facility in Gloucestershire. This is a hands-on role supporting maintenance, repair and overhaul of aerospace components to ensure safe and reliable aircraft operation.

You will apply electronics knowledge to fault-find to component level, test and repair components, following detailed drawings and specifications. We offer some flexibility around start and finish times while maintaining a 37-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronic fault-finding to component level.
• Strong theoretical electronics knowledge accepted.
• Vocational electronics qualification at least HNC, Level 3 apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of electronics and mechanics in engineering environments.
• Ability to read and work with detailed engineering drawings and technical records.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive, self-starting attitude; able to work under pressure.
• Confidence in communication and collaborative teamwork.
• Aerospace experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Transferable experience from electronics assembly, testing, maintenance and repair is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repair and overhaul of electronic components and assemblies per customer instructions.
• Perform electronic testing and fault diagnosis down to component level.
• Follow engineering drawings, technical instructions and specifications to complete work.
• Use test equipment and procedures to verify functionality and meet specifications.
• Carry out soldering (through-hole and surface-mount) per relevant standards.
• Record test results and maintain technical documentation.
• Work with colleagues to meet deadlines and uphold high quality standards.
