Job summary

A leading aerospace company in South Oxfordshire is seeking an experienced electro-mechanical engineer for a 3-month contract position. You will be responsible for assembling aerospace hardware and developing procedures, collaborating closely with the flight team. A strong background in aerospace or space engineering is required. Training will be provided for the integration of flight electronics. This is a short-term contractor position inside IR35.

Job description

As an experienced electro-mechanical engineer, you will be involved in the assembly and testing of intricate hardware. You will collaborate closely with all members of the flight team to ensure that systems are designed and built for successful and accurate testing. A background in aerospace or space engineering is required for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assembling aerospace hardware and developing assembly procedures.
  2. Providing design input to ensure accurate production of assemblies.
  3. Selecting and advising on integration-specific materials such as adhesives.
  4. Developing operational procedures for assembly activities.
  5. Mechanical assembly and integration, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and operational procedures.
  6. Collaborating with electrical engineers to assemble flight electronics (training provided).
  7. Creating test and qualification plans in cooperation with systems engineers.
  8. Running in-vacuum performance tests on propulsion systems.
  9. Performing inspections and quality checks on flight parts and components.
  10. Conducting environmental testing campaigns on flight hardware.
  11. Performing acceptance tests on newly built products.
