Job summary

JobsTrackR in Luton, Bedfordshire, is recruiting a Clean Room Dye Technician/Liquid Penetration Operative on a late shift (Mon-Thu, 3:45pm–1:30am). The role involves inspecting high-value aerospace components for surface defects using penetrant inspection techniques and documenting results.

Basic IT skills and a strong eye for detail are essential, with a shift allowance included. Salary is £31,350.15 basic with a 1/3 night shift allowance (£41,800.20 total).

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and visual perception.
• Ability to pass a mandatory eye test.
• Good hand-eye coordination and practical ability.
• Ability to safely handle chemicals and components.
• Basic IT skills for recording results.
• Strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
• Manufacturing, welding or engineering experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean components for inspection.
• Apply fluorescent/visible penetrant and developer.
• Inspect components using UV lighting.
• Record and report inspection results.
• Identify non-conforming components for repair or scrap.
• Carry out basic visual inspections and measurements.
• Maintain inspection equipment and consumables.
• Follow technical drawings, route cards and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
