Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design Quality Engineer for a full-time role based in Pitstone, Hertfordshire. This Inside IR35, 12‑month contract focuses on ensuring designs meet safety, regulatory and customer requirements before production begins.

You will review design documentation, support design reviews, drive DFMEA/PFMEA, RCCA/FRACA, APQP for NPI, and ensure compliance across DEV programs with ISO9001/AS9100 knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, science, or engineering desirable.
• 3–5 years' experience in aerospace design, development or quality.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 QMS deployment.
• Understanding of EASA/CAA Part 21J.
• Audit experience; lead auditor training preferred.
• APQP tools knowledge with PPAP, FMEA and MSA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all design, design change and technical documentation meet EASA/CAA Part 21J airworthiness and customer requirements.
• Support design reviews PDR/CDR and DEV stages to integrate quality, safety and producibility.
• Review and validate technical documentation for design performance.
• Facilitate RCCA/FRACA analysis with corrective action monitoring to prevent in‑service failures.
• Deploy APQP tools for NPI to improve designs prior to production.
• Support DFMEA/PFMEA and act as quality champion during development for FMEA updates.
