Job summary

SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK is hiring a Design Quality Engineer on an inside IR35 12‑month contract, based in Pitstone, Hertfordshire. You will assure design quality, safety and producibility, applying Part 21J DOH requirements and leading RCCA/FRACA activities with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires 3–5 years in aerospace, strong problem solving and APQP experience, and interaction with production and design teams to prevent defects and ensure 100% airworthiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, science, or engineering (highly desirable).
• 3–5 years' experience in aerospace engineering, design & development or quality roles.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 QMS deployment and implementation.
• Understanding and application of EASA/CAA Part 21J.
• Auditing experience; lead auditor training preferred.
• APQP tools with PPAP, FMEA and MSA.

Responsibilities

• Ensure design, changes and documentation meet airworthiness and customer requirements.
• Support PDR/CDR reviews and DEV stages to integrate quality, safety and producibility.
• Validate technical documentation for performance and conformance.
• Lead RCCA/FRACA analyses and monitor corrective actions.
• Deploy APQP tools for NPI to improve designs.
• Champion DFMEA/PFMEA and update FMEA.
• Manage FAIRs/PPAPs and report status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with customer on quality escapes and approvals.
• Support audits by EASA/CAA/ISO9001/AS9100 and NCR closeout.
