Job summary

Join Airbus in Belfast as a Craft Engineering Apprentice. Over 36 months you will gain hands-on experience in wing box production for the A220, combining practical training with academic study.

In Year 1 you’ll study at Castlereagh Campus, earning NVQ Level 2 Diploma and related qualifications, before moving to Belfast for live projects and on-site fitting work. You’ll learn painting preparation, application, quality checks, and fitting tasks, with ongoing day-release study to Level 3 NVQ

Qualifications

• This apprenticeship requires GCSEs including Maths, English and Science or equivalent.
• Acceptable equivalents include Essential Skills or City & Guilds at the appropriate level.
• Candidates must attach CV and cover letter stating motivation.

Responsibilities

• Learn foundational skills for building aircraft during Year 1 at Castlereagh Campus.
• Prepare, set up and mix paints, and apply coatings with attention to finish quality.
• Inspect finishes and perform touch-ups while following safety protocols.
• Perform wing box production fitting activities including drilling and installing fasteners.
• Continue studies toward Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma and Academic Certificate.
