Job summary

Thompson Aero Seating, Banbridge, UK, seeks an engineering specialist to join multi-disciplinary teams delivering innovative aircraft seating solutions for global customers. You will work on new concepts and customization, ensuring delivery to cost, time, quality and airworthiness, with manufacturability in mind.

You will prepare specifications and reports, liaise with vendors and internal departments, and support change management, investigations, and bids for new requests, contributing to

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant Engineering degree or Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
• Ability to contribute to technical solutions on a wide range of problems, understanding manufacturing and certification principles.
• Previous experience contributing to the completion of specific programs and projects.
• Self-starter and decompose moderately complex projects into individual tasks and processes.
• Organised individual, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications, technical plans and reports related to aircraft seating.
• Work with Lead and external vendors to ensure compliant, airworthy products.
• Work on concessions to maintain airworthiness.
• Support change management through research, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis and implementation.
• Assist internal customers with troubleshooting and product investigations.
• Support bids for new customer requests.
• Design in project teams to meet reliability and airworthiness standards in operating environments.
• Identify airworthiness risks and lead root cause analysis and proposed solutions.
