We are currently looking for an Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) Engineer to help deliver some of our exciting UK and international engineering projects. The role will require good knowledge and understanding of multi-disciplinary project delivery to join our team of technical experts in the UK.

A Little More About Your Role…

  • Leading and undertaking the preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications related to the delivery of airfield engineering AGL projects in both the UK and overseas.
  • Helping to manage and coordinate design teams, and effectively communicating with all parties;
  • Identifying and managing design risks;
  • Ensuring all deliverables and milestones are achieved to cost/quality/time targets;
  • Championing excellent health and safety practice, including safety in design, site visit safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Responding to client directions in a professional and customer focused manner and helping to develop and maintain relationships with clients

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…

  • Understand deliverable requirements and can prepare AGL and associated airfield design documentation at all design stages pertinent to the project (RIBA 2 to 6).
  • Undertake the production of specifications for AGL, MAGS, AGL Substation and Apron Stand services to relevant standards (UK CAA, EASA, ICAO, MOS139, FAA etc).
  • Understand pertinent design standards across both Civil and Military domains and evolution and updates of the same.
  • Analyse existing baseline, survey and as built information for effective incorporation into design models and basis of engineering decisions.
  • Assist to coordinate AGL designs with other disciplines including pavement engineering, civil and structural engineering, etc.
  • Support in the development of feasible, logical and efficient work phasing proposals to carry out the construction works.
  • Assist in the engagement, oversight and collaborative management of subconsultants.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and in the support of clients during procurement processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of methodologies, design proposals, resources estimation, etc. for preparation of bids.
  • Undertake visits to Airfields in the UK and overseas for design workshops, monitoring of construction works and in the production of progress reports.
  • Support the global WSP business as a specialist in AGL design and consultancy.
  • Support Airfield Engineers in their development of Airfield designs for airports in the UK and around the world.
  • Ability to produce design models and design production outputs in AutoCAD
  • Hold a university degree relevant to civil/electrical engineering, construction, design or related discipline
  • Chartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT or equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience is preferable but not essential
