Job summary

Williams Racing in the United Kingdom is seeking a CFD Engineer in the Aerodynamics Department to build, sharpen and protect CFD capability across external, internal and thermal modelling.

You will work with the CFD Correlation group to track down miscorrelations with wind tunnel or track data, tune recipes, and provide guidance to aerodynamicists running bespoke simulations. A strong emphasis on accuracy, reliability and continuous improvement is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or related numerical discipline.
• Experience setting up, running and interpreting CFD simulations.
• Strong Python and Linux shell scripting abilities.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Comfortable in a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine and run CFD models and tools across external, internal and thermal disciplines.
• Investigate miscorrelations against wind tunnel and track data and identify root causes.
• Tune CFD recipes and validate methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Write and review Python and shell tooling for CFD analysis and automation.
• Document model changes for traceability and reuse across the department.
