Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre is seeking a temporary Advocacy Worker to provide vital support to survivors of sexual violence aged 13 and over. This role involves guiding individuals through the criminal justice process with a focus on empowerment and collaboration with various agencies.
Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre is seeking a (temporary 12-month maternity cover) Advocacy Worker to support survivors of sexual violence, aged 13 and over, across the Forth Valley area through the criminal justice process.
This post will require a good understanding of the criminal justice system and a passion to support and empower survivors throughout the criminal justice process, and to be there for them whatever the outcome.
The successful applicant will be passionate, knowledgeable, diligent, and highly resilient with the ability to manage their own workload and to work with all different types of people including varying levels of vulnerability.
Should the successful applicant be available to start from 8th September a full handover from the postholder will be available but a good understanding of the justice system, a clear intersectional feminist understanding of gender-based violence, and some experience of support or advocacy type work would be highly advantageous. The ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and services to centre a survivor’s needs will be essential.
