About the Role

We are seeking an experienced part-timeEnvironmental Advisorto work collaboratively to deliver high-quality environmental solutions and results at our Thiess Mt Arthur South Project located in Muswellbrook.

Working 3 days per week and reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your duties will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and project approvals
  • Management of top-soiling stripping works including quality assurance
  • Ensuring the successful implementation of the Environmental Management System and compliance to the Client's Environmental Management Plans
  • Delivering environmental training and awareness programs
  • Ensuring environmental initiatives and innovations are effectively communicated and promoted to strengthen the culture within the business
  • Collation of reports to meet legislative and client requirements
  • Liaison with the client and regulator
  • Co-ordinating environmental inspections and auditing programs and maintaining associated documentation and records
  • Providing interpretation of environmental data and regular progress reports against environmental performance targets

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field is essential, along with proven experience in a site-based environmental management role in heavy industry, preferably mining.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders, with proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • A current driver’s license is required.
  • Lead Auditor qualifications in Environmental Management Systems are desirable but not mandatory.
