Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Adversary Operations Chief for the COBRA program at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in Brandon, United Kingdom. The role requires fighter pilot experience and deep knowledge of US Air Force and Joint Force TTPs. You will coordinate live, virtual, and constructive training and debriefs, integrating EW and LVC capabilities with daily flight operations within a multi-domain context. This is a contract/global program.

Qualifications

  • Fighter pilot experience in 4th/5th Gen aircraft and Joint experience preferred.
  • Instructor/evaluator hours in relevant flight training.
  • US citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Red Mission Commander for daily training and debriefs.
  • Direct real-time scenario pacing to meet learning objectives.
  • Program and integrate emitter systems and threat models for training.
  • Lead coordination between the 48 FW and 19 EWS to synchronize threat data with operations.

Description

SAIC is seeking aAdversaryOperations Chief to support the US Air Force Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) program at Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath (Brandon), United Kingdom.

COBRA provides for the implementation, integration, development, and delivery oftraining and technologysolutions to support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partner multi-domain operations (MDO) within the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) strategy.

Overview:

The role of this position is tobethe exercise control integratorbetween the48Fighter Wing’sdaily flightoperationsandthe19thElectronic Warfare Squadron’s (19 EWS)Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC)capabilities. Thesuccessful candidateis knowledgeable in 4th & 5th Generation fighter tactics and adversary weapons systems. They will be capable of leading the observation, assessment, and debrief of fighter maneuvers to analyze countermeasure effectiveness. Additionally, they willbe responsibleforsynchronizingtheEWand LVC support with48 FWflight operations.

The Adversary Operations Chief will:
  • Function as the 48th FW’s dedicated adversary strategist (“Red Mission Commander”) for daily training, execution, and debrief.
  • Direct real time scenario pacing and flow to ensure tactical problemsremainrealistic, adaptive, and aligned withidentifieddesired learning objectives (DLOs).
  • Program,operate, and integrate simulation models and associated emitter systems in coordination withon and off-station participants.
  • Lead the employment of 19 EWS threat emitter systems to mimic a coherent “thinking” adversary to create realistic and dynamic threat training for aircrew during daily operations.
  • Lead coordination between the 48 FW and 19 EWS tooptimizetraining by synchronizing threat data replication with daily flight operations.
  • Provide assessment and feedback on pilot responses to emitter threat systems.
  • Incorporate high-level adversary threat and emitter systems TTPs and doctrine into scenarios and training events.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and present USAF, Joint Force, and Allied air warfare briefings, support academic development and instruction, and lead air warfare discussions with a wide range of audiences as requested by the US Government.
  • Design relevant scenarios informed by knowledge of US, Joint Force, Allied, and adversary real-world systems, capabilities, and tactics for integration into UAWC-sponsored and supported training and exercise events, with supporting presentations, briefings, and other exercise products.
  • Develop exercise documents including Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), Air Operations Directives (AOD), Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Airspace Control Plans (ACP), Airspace Control Orders (ACO), Area Air Defense Plans (AADP), Special Instructions (SPINs), and mission execution products.
  • Facilitate the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) of various exercises with warfighters by participating in exercise scenario development, mission planning, mass briefs,mission briefs, execution, debriefs, analysis, and after-action reports.
  • Participate in formal/informal training events as required/directed to maintain tactical/technical skills.
  • Contract position will support anyadditionalrelated duties asrequired.
Qualifications
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Fighter Pilot(or rated equivalent) with a minimum of8-years4th or 5th Generation fighteraircraftexperience.(Joint experience preferred).
  • Relevant instructor / evaluator hours.
  • Expert knowledge of USAF and Joint Force doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Expert knowledge of adversary SAM TTPs
  • Experience with the Joint Air Operations Planning (JAOP) or the Joint Operations Planning Process for Air (JOPPA) at the AOC,Component, COCOM, or Joint Staff level.
  • Must have a U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance and/or SAP
  • Bachelor’s and eighteen (18) years or more experience or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • US Citizen and active TS/SCI clearance
Desired Experience/Qualifications:
  • USAF C2 Warrior Advanced Course graduate
  • USAF Weapons School graduate (or equivalent)
  • USMC Weapons Instructor Course graduate
  • Knowledge of NATO doctrine and tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Familiarity with the following systems: Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE), Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), and Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3).
