This post offers a Recruitment & Retention Premia (RRP) of £5,000 payable upon appointment (covering 36 months of service), in addition to a relocation allowance (subject to eligibility). Candidates who meet the qualifications but may not yet demonstrate full knowledge or experience at Band 8a will still be considered for a Band 7 to Band 8a progression. Support will be provided to achieve progression milestones.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, 'Priority', and 'At Risk' NHS staff across Devon with recent relevant experience as per the Person Specification.
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is the largest hospital on the Southwest Peninsula, providing comprehensive secondary and tertiary care, including cardiothoracic surgery, kidney transplantation, neurosurgery, and regional trauma services. Our specialist cancer treatments include bone marrow transplant, sarcoma, and hepatobiliary surgeries. We collaborate closely with community partners to deliver health and social care.
From September 2024, the University of Bath MPharm degree will be available at the University of Plymouth, offering opportunities for pharmacists to participate in educational activities and future roles.
The Surgical Care Group covers numerous specialties, many as regional tertiary services, across 29 theatres and 16 ward areas, including Bariatrics, Breast, Cardiac & Thoracic, Colorectal, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Maxillofacial, Neurosurgery, Upper GI, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary, Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Plastics, Urology, Vascular, and General Surgery.
The pharmacy team is a vital part of the multidisciplinary team supporting these services, working alongside clinicians, nurse specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
