Job description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Advanced Specialist Pharmacist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team within the West London Forensic Services (WLFS). This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified pharmacist with a specialist interest in mental health, particularly in secure settings, to contribute to high-quality, patient-centred care.

Working across our medium and low secure units, you will play a key role in delivering expert pharmaceutical care to patients with complex mental health needs, often with co-occurring conditions. You will work closely with the ward medical team and other allied health professionals to support safe and effective medicines optimisation in line with current guidelines and legislation.

Main duties of the job

This 12 month fixed-term post offers a unique chance to work in a specialist forensic environment where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and rehabilitation. Your responsibilities will include medicines reconciliation, clinical ward reviews, supporting clozapine and depot antipsychotic monitoring, and contributing to multidisciplinary reviews. You will also support audit, education, and policy development across the service.

Previous experience in mental health pharmacy is essential, and ideally, you will hold or be working towards a post-graduate qualification. Support for professional development is available, and you will be joining a forward-thinking team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

If you are passionate about making a difference in forensic mental health care and want to work in a role where your clinical skills and leadership can thrive, we would love to hear from you.
