Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Sonographer to join our Ultrasound team. The post involves 37.5 hours per week, with potential weekend coverage, and requires CASE-accredited qualifications and HCPC registration.

The role supports clinical leadership, education and research within a multidisciplinary imaging service, with opportunities to mentor radiographers and sonographers in a busy department dedicated to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• CASE accredited Pg Dip in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent CASE accredited qualification.
• HCPC registration.
• Willingness to work 37.5 hours per week with possible weekend cover.
• Experience in mentoring radiographers, sonographers and students.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for welfare and comfort of the patient during and after ultrasound examinations.
• Provide a high standard of ultrasound work, ensuring standards and quality issues are observed.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, research, audit and education within the ultrasound department.
• Support and mentor colleagues and students within the imaging team.
