About the Role

The team includes Health and Wellbeing Assessors, Social Workers, Experienced Social Workers, Advanced Social Workers, and a Team Manager. We seek a social work qualified and experienced Advanced Practitioner for our team in the New Addington and Selsdon Locality area.

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will supervise experienced and newly qualified social workers, assessors, and provide support and advice. You may deputise for the Team Manager. You will lead practice development, quality assurance, staff development, and contribute to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Focus on prevention and early intervention, adopting a whole family, strengths-based community approach, working with residents to maximize their outcomes.
• Use community resources and strengths-based conversations to identify and connect individuals with their communities.
• Co-create support plans that leverage strengths and support ambitions, arranging statutory or paid support as needed under the Care Act 2014.
• Provide social care perspectives in multidisciplinary settings, addressing adult needs and safeguarding, including those with mental health issues, in the community and hospital.
• Manage a caseload including complex cases.
• Practice as a Best Interests Assessor / Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM).
• Supervise staff and support staff development and professional growth.
• Assist with monitoring service budgets and contribute to budget efficiencies.
• Deputise for the Team Manager and support cultural and behavioral change initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams to develop resilient services that maximize rehabilitation and prevent hospital admissions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Social Work qualification registered with Social Work England (SWE).
• Completed BIA training and hold or be eligible for a DOLS assessor licence.
• Completed relevant post-qualifying training/awards.
• Experience chairing safeguarding and Best Interest Meetings.
• Experience supervising staff.
