Advanced Social Worker (Children's) - Newton Abbot

Location: Newton Abbot
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Pay: Up to £38.00 per hour (umbrella)

About the Role:

Our Fostering, Supervision and Support Service is looking for an Advanced Social Worker to lead and support our expert team of Social Workers in South Devon.

As an Advanced Social Worker, you will:

  • Work closely with the Team Manager for Fostering South to provide professional leadership and supervision

  • ️ Support day-to-day operations of the team

  • Manage a smaller but more complex caseload of children and young people with complex needs

  • Conduct in-depth assessments

  • Mentor and supervise colleagues and students, sharing knowledge to improve practice standards

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience, aligned with BASW PCF framework

  • Ability to work holistically with foster families supporting children with complex needs in a multi-agency environment

  • Proven track record of post-qualifying training and professional development

  • Lead improvements and constructively challenge social care practice quality

  • Champion high standards of professional social work

  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to unqualified staff, students, and less experienced social workers
