Job summary

Association of Youth Offending Team Managers (AYM) is seeking an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join the Dedicated Social Work Team at Feltham Young Offenders Institute in Hounslow. The role focuses on supervising two social workers and providing expert safeguarding advice for young people in custody and in surrounding care contexts.

You will oversee statutory social work duties, engage in multi‑agency collaboration, and contribute to high‑quality services within a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for working with young people, including those who have offended or are at risk of offending.
• Experience or understanding of safeguarding children from harm.
• Ability to supervise students or junior social workers and support a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent supervision and support for the Dedicated Social Work Team members.
• Lead practice with young people in a secure environment and ensure safeguarding standards.
