Overview
To ensure that all Advanced Quality Requirements are met for New Model Launches as per the Adient "PLUS" (Product Launch System) including: control plans, validation of gauging, data evaluation, IMDS compliance, PPAP/PSW activities, and customer collaboration for approval of components.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Control Plans are prepared to meet Prototype, Pre-Production and Production requirements
- Complete Appearance Manual to relevant Customer Standards
- Validate and verify all gauging for production usage
- Ensure all relevant Measurement and Capability data is conducted and data evaluated
- Ensure IMDS compliance across all BOM items
- Conduct all Supplier APQP activities necessary to achieve Supplier PSW Approval
- Ensure Suppliers are conducting DVP&R activities as part of PPAP
- Organize and participate in "Grain Go" and "Colour Harmony / AAR" events with the customer and supplier for approval of relevant components
- Obtain Supplier PPAP Approval
- Collaborate with necessary Adient Departments to generate the contents of the Customer PPAP
- Conduct all necessary communication with Customer to obtain approvals
- Be part of the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) and communicate all Quality deliverables to this SDT
- Ensure all Customer documentation requirements for each Build Phase are developed and actioned, liaising with JIT Management for obtaining relevant JIT resources
- Provide full support within the JIT Plant during each New Model build phase and, with the JIT Plant Quality Manager, ensure all Quality deliverables are achieved
- Conduct supplier visits to determine status against APQP deliverables and ensure supplier processes are approved to meet Adient expectations
- Ensure Adient CCSC is conducted to fully control all Critical Characteristics (CC) within the JIT facility—from definition of CCs as per DFMEA and Drawings through to Poka Yoke verification in Production
- Resolve customer and internally identified quality issues using Adient problem-solving methods (8D, PSD, PCAD, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.)
- Perform all Quality activities in accordance with the latest Adient BOS, IATF16949 and Specific Customer Requirements
- Present Quality Project status at Internal Launch Readiness Reviews (LRRs) and External Customer Reviews
Qualifications
- BSc / BEng degree required or equivalent experience
- Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including minimum IATF16949
- Continuous Improvement, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control plans, DOE and SPC
- Minimum 4 years in the Automotive Industry
- Minimum 2 years in Quality area
- Knowledge of the AIAG Quality Manuals (APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, etc)
- Manufacturing Quality system experience and customer communication activities
- Certification in Quality Engineering a plus
- Lead or Internal auditor training to IATF16949 (TS16949) desirable
- Fluent English
- Willingness to travel
