Advanced Qualified Social Worker

Children's Services

Location: North West

Pay rate: £38 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Advanced Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Family Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's Children's Services in North West. You will be on duty every 5 weeks and supported by an experienced team manager. Lancashire has a strong and positive culture. Our client offers regular monthly supervision and group reflective supervision.

As part of this Family Safeguarding Team, you will work in a busy and supportive environment, assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to provide help at an earlier stage. The team collaborates directly with children and families and partners with agencies including police and health to ensure positive, sustainable outcomes. Your caseload will include Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court cases. The service maintains a strong link with Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer needed.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions on appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet their needs.

You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable results from your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to achieve the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and operate efficiently.

Perfect candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Experience working within Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Committed to continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users
  • Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Dedicated to providing high-quality services
  • Experienced in working within a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment
  • 2+ years qualified

In this role, you will:

  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes
