West Lothian Council is seeking two Advanced Pupil Support Workers for Ogilvie School Campus, which caters to children with additional support needs. The role involves working in a nurturing environment alongside health professionals to ensure effective learning and teaching.

Ogilvie School Campus, Livingston, is a school for children with a range of additional support needs arising from complex difficulties, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and Autism spectrum disorder. The school catchment area covers the entire West Lothian Council region.
The school is expanding its Secondary provision, with the first S6 pupils expected this year. Significant structural and educational changes are planned to create a dynamic, forward-thinking environment that meets all pupils' needs in a nurturing setting. Effective learning and teaching are priorities, complemented by a caring, barrier-removing approach that enables pupils to access the curriculum appropriately.
The current staff includes a Head Teacher, approximately 20 teaching staff, 40 Advanced Pupil Support Workers, and 2 Office staff. The school enrolls around 100 children.
We are seeking two enthusiastic Advanced Pupil Support Workers to join our support team.
Our team is supported by health professionals who regularly collaborate with staff, children, and parents, including a school nurse, community pediatrician, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and a children and mental health team.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the start date to become registered. Applications must be submitted within three months of starting. If already registered with the SSSC, you will need to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Scheme (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a Scheme update check before a formal offer is made.
