Advanced Practitioner Sonographer

In this important role you will make a difference by working as part of a highly skilled and motivated team providing a high-quality ultrasound service at the Royal United Hospital and at our community hospitals as required.

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic Sonographer with proven ability to work autonomously.

As an experienced and competent practitioner you will understand the need for a caring and compassionate approach along with attention to detail, play a key role in the delivery of the ultrasound service and are able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to service development and CPD.

You will undertake all types of obstetric, gynaecology and general ultrasound examinations & provide independent reports - this includes early pregnancy assessment, and TVS. For the right candidate, & dependent upon service needs, the Trust will consider expanding the role to include the fields of HyCoSy, Paediatric Hips and MSK. You will assess and report on your own specialised workload.

Main duties of the job

We have a total of 9 rooms at the RUH and the service is delivered across an additional 3 community sites, so having a valid UK drivers' licence would be advantageous. All rooms are equipped with high quality (Canon, Samsung & GE) machines, dual monitors & PACS.

You will have the DMU/PgCert/PgDip or equivalent, with experience of working within an ultrasound department. Trainees nearing the end of their Ultrasound training will be considered.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE) accredited Post Graduate Certificate in Obstetric ultrasound or Post Graduate Diploma which includes Obstetrics, Gynaecology & General Medical examinations.
