About the Role

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until March 2026, with a salary of £28,000 per annum.

WithYou in Kent for Young People is the commissioned provider of substance use support for young people aged 10-25 years.

We offer free, confidential services to young people, professionals, and families, including short-term and long-term one-to-one work and group options.

Our interventions focus on providing accurate, individualized, and non-judgmental support around drugs and alcohol.

We do not have a sponsorship license and cannot sponsor visas. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract.

This role involves working one-to-one with young adults aged 18-25, delivering harm reduction interventions related to drugs and alcohol.

The Advanced Practitioner role is designed for candidates with advanced substance knowledge and experience working with both under and over 18s. The role requires initiative, forward-thinking, independence, and exemplary record-keeping.

Our young adults may face challenges like mental health issues, homelessness, offending, and family breakdown. You will work closely with external agencies and families to support their outcomes.

You will manage a caseload of young adults, conducting sessions in the community, such as at schools, homes, or community centers.

This role covers East Kent (specific areas to be discussed at interview). Mileage will be paid at 45p per mile. *Please ignore the “Faversham” reference in the advert; it is for internal purposes only.*

You will receive support through line management, group reflective practice, team meetings, and practice development days.

Training and ongoing development opportunities are provided. If you enjoy working with young people and want to gain expertise in drug and alcohol harm reduction, this could be the role for you.

Requirements include a full UK driving license, access to a car, and ensuring business use is added to your insurance.

  • OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Experience working with complex 18-25-year-olds
  • Experience in health, social care, criminal justice, or related fields
  • Experience in gathering and maintaining information for decision-making
  • Knowledge of health and safety and risk assessment
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Good communication skills
