Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist in London. This full-time locum role in Haringey offers a chance to lead complex cases, mentor teams, and drive person-centred practice within Adult Social Care.

You will assess complex needs, use advanced professional judgement, and coordinate care pathways to ensure high-quality services while supporting workforce development and service improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Substantial experience in Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy.
• Proven experience managing complex cases, assessments and interventions.
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Adult Safeguarding procedures, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
• Experience supervising and mentoring Occupational Therapists and/or other staff.
• Experience leading practice development initiatives and representing services at strategic forums.

Responsibilities

• Assess service users with complex care and therapy needs.
• Apply advanced professional judgement and risk management in complex cases.
• Identify and coordinate appropriate care pathways for effective service delivery.
• Manage a complex Occupational Therapy caseload to a high standard.
• Support the Team Manager in leading and developing a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide specialist Occupational Therapy advice across Adult Social Care services.
• Lead on comprehensive assessments, interventions, reviews, and complex case management.
• Champion best practice, policy development and service improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapists and students.
• Facilitate safeguarding discussions and risk management processes.
