About the Role
Due to the retirement of the current postholder, Rochdale Adult Care is seeking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the management team in the Community Occupational Therapy Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical supervision of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, working with other OT manager colleagues to deliver a responsive service that supports our vulnerable residents to remain safe and independent in the community. The role involves working with Social Work and Health colleagues in the Localities, jointly responsible for delivering the Community Occupational Therapy service, managing the Duty service, supporting staff development, and reporting to the Team Manager.
The position is busy and varied, with team working being an essential aspect of the role.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Community OT who can prioritize and risk-manage their work, ensuring that service users' needs are met and staff are supported to deliver a comprehensive, strength-based, incremental service. Problem-solving skills are essential, as the work involves multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration with partner agencies, including Health and Housing. You will need a sense of humor and the ability to adapt plans at short notice. A working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and relevant legislation impacting community work is essential. Rochdale prides itself on being proud, passionate, and pioneering, and our OT service reflects these values.
About us
The Adult Care Service in Rochdale is integrated with Health in the Localities. The OT service works alongside Locality Teams to deliver a person-centered, strength-based, incremental approach to residents. The team is closely linked with the Prevention Service and the STARS Team. Rochdale offers an innovative working environment with numerous training opportunities and peer support groups within Social Care. OTs have their own Practice Development Group (PDG) and collaborate across the borough to support learning. Supervision is provided by the Community Occupational Therapy Team Manager.
There are opportunities for hybrid working, depending on service needs.
